The heart of One State / One Story: Frankenstein is communities coming together to talk about Mary Shelley’s remarkable book. Indiana Humanities is providing $1,000 grants, books and promotional materials for host organizations to design and implement Frankenstein programs in 2018.
A Frankenstein Community Read is a series of three or more programs that explore the themes and ideas of Frankenstein, especially as they relate to the role of science and technology in our lives. Taking place at 62 locations throughout Indiana in 2018, at least one of the programs is an old-fashioned book discussion, because there’s nothing better than talking about great books with curious people. Other events include talks, film screenings, creative writing workshops, read-a-thons, and more exploring the big ideas presented in Frankenstein.
